Debate Fitness Goal Achievement

You set up agents to debate a user’s fitness status. One agent calls `get_activity` for steps and calories, while another pulls goals via `get_user_goals`. The agents then argue whether the activity level constitutes an actual achievement based on their defined roles.

Consensus on Health Status

Multiple agents can challenge each other using data from `get_measurements`. For example, a 'Risk Agent' flags high blood pressure readings from the server, while a 'Performance Agent' suggests optimal ranges based on historical data from `get_workouts`.

Analyze Sleep Patterns Through Debate

The AutoGen framework allows agents to discuss sleep quality. One agent uses `get_sleep_details` to analyze REM vs Deep cycles, and a second agent compares that pattern against the user's overall activity from `get_activity`. The final decision is a consensus report.

Setup guide

Set up Withings MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Withings tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Withings_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Withings data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Withings MCP in AutoGen

The framework allows multiple agents to read and process the same tool output. For instance, one agent can summarize `get_sleep_summary` while another uses that summary to predict next day's recovery needs.
Yes. You configure the system to subscribe via `subscribe_notifications`. When a trigger event occurs (like stepping on a scale), the initial data feeds into the agent group for immediate deliberation and response.
The agents can call `get_workouts` to pull records. They process details like activity category, distance, and calorie burn, facilitating a debate on whether the user is maintaining diverse exercise habits.
It does. You can build systems where agents compare different metrics—like cross-referencing heart rate from `get_heart_rate` against the intensity of recorded workouts—to reach a nuanced conclusion.
The system processes physiological measurements including blood pressure readings (systolic/diastolic), body temperature, and heart rate. These are the key data types used to drive agent debate.
