View and list all workspace projects.

Copilot Chat can use `list_projects` to pull a reliable, consistent list of every project the team works on. This ensures that every developer uses the same source of truth for project identifiers. It helps enforce consistency across the entire engineering department when starting new features.

Manage and retrieve task records.

Need to check if a feature is scoped? Run `get_task_details` to pull the complete record into your workspace. This lets developers verify scope without leaving their files. Alternatively, you can use `create_task` directly through the Copilot Chat interface for quick tickets.

Identify team members and user roles.

When writing code that interacts with users, having accurate data is critical. Use `list_project_members` to pull the specific list of people attached to a project. You can also run `list_all_users` for global visibility. This keeps your team's development efforts correctly aligned with company structure.

Setup guide

Set up Worksection MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the Worksection MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the Worksection tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent Worksection transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.
