Debating Data Integrity with AutoGen

The `create_entry` tool lets your multi-agent system propose new records. A 'Validation Agent' can challenge the proposed entry, while a 'Data Entry Agent' uses `list_elements` to confirm if all required fields were included before consensus is reached. This negotiation process forces the agents to agree on data completeness and validity before committing an action.

Automated Data Cleanup with AutoGen MCP Server

Need to prune old records? One agent can propose calling `delete_entry`, but another 'Risk Agent' must first call `get_list_details` to confirm that the entry isn't linked to critical data. The debate results in a safe, confirmed deletion. This setup prevents accidental data loss because multiple perspectives must sign off on destructive actions.

Coordinating Workflows with Zenkit MCP Server

`list_workspaces` provides the map for your agents. One agent can list all available areas, and a 'Planner Agent' then uses `get_list_details` to pick the right target area based on the debate outcome. This structured handoff ensures that complex processes don't get lost in unstructured text generation.

Setup guide

Set up Zenkit MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Zenkit tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Zenkit_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Zenkit data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Zenkit MCP in AutoGen

The tools provide concrete, verifiable data points. Agents debate the *state* of the system—for instance, they might argue whether to `update_entry` or if a new entry needs to be created entirely.
Absolutely. You can set up agents to debate the necessity of calling tools like `delete_entry`. The final decision requires agreement across multiple perspectives, which is much safer than a single API call.
The server manages structured records and metadata. Your agents interact with these 'entries' and the definitions that govern them, making it ideal for process documentation.
Yes. Since all tool calls are explicit (e.g., `list_workspaces`), agents can reference the exact output of one step when debating the next, maintaining a clear chain of reasoning.
Your agent first calls `list_workspaces` to see the top-level areas. It then uses that knowledge to call `list_elements` on a specific list, gathering enough context for deliberation.
