How to Use the Zenodo MCP in Windsurf
Automate Scientific Data Pipelines with Windsurf and Zenodo MCP Server.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Zenodo MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Zenodo to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Search and Locate Research Records
Need to find a specific dataset? Use `list_records` or `get_record` to search published information. This lets your AI agent pinpoint exactly which scientific research datasets you need, retrieving the record by its ID. Windsurf reads that context immediately. It knows how to follow up with `get_deposition` if you want to check the raw files associated with that specific dataset.
Manage Dataset Versioning
Updating research data shouldn't be a headache. You can initiate a new version using `new_version_deposition`. This ensures your history is clean and traceable. Then, you use `upload_deposition_file` to add the revised text file, keeping all versions of your scientific research datasets safely stored within the MCP Server.
Control Deposition Status
Don't want to publish until everything is perfect? You can first use `edit_deposition` on a published dataset. If you mess up, `discard_deposition` lets your agent reset edits. When it’s ready for the world, `publish_deposition` makes the data live. Remember: once published, this MCP Server prevents deletions.
