Automated Customer and Order Retrieval

The `list_zid_customers` tool lets Cascade pull a list of shop customers. You can then use `get_zid_customer` to grab specific details for any user. Cascade chains these calls, allowing you to set a goal like 'Find all premium users who ordered in the last month' and it executes the multi-step query.

Inventory Status Monitoring

You need to know what you have? Start with `list_zid_inventories` to see a full list of stock levels. From there, Cascade can drill down into specifics using `get_zid_product`. This means your agent figures out which products are low on stock across multiple locations without you having to prompt for each one.

Shop Profile and Status Checks

`check_zid_status` verifies the API connection, making sure everything's working before a big push. You can also pull general store data using `get_zid_shop_profile`. If you need to run an entire sequence—like checking status, pulling shop info, and then listing products—Cascade handles the whole flow for you.

Setup guide

Set up Zid MCP in Windsurf

Prerequisites

  • Windsurf IDE installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Click the Cascade assistant icon in the sidebar, then click the hammer icon (🔨) at the top of the panel. Select "Configure" to open ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

  2. 2

    Add the Zid MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Refresh MCPs

Go back to the hammer icon (🔨) in Cascade and click "Refresh". Windsurf will detect the new server. No full restart is needed — the connection is hot-reloaded.

  4. 4

    Verify in Cascade

Start a new Cascade conversation and ask something like "Show my Zid payment history." If connected, Cascade will call the Zid tools directly. You will see a green dot next to the server name in the MCP panel.

Common questions about Zid MCP in Windsurf

Windsurf uses `list_zid_customers` to get a roster of all shop customers. You can then use `get_zid_customer` to pull specific details, like contact information or purchase history, for any individual user.
Absolutely. Cascade plans the sequence for you. You tell it 'Get all orders from last week,' and it automatically runs `list_zid_orders` and then uses `get_zid_order` to pull individual details.
You can use `list_zid_products` to see all available items. If you need deeper specs, the agent pulls them via `get_zid_product`. This is essential for building structured product catalogs.
Yes. You can use `list_zid_inventories` to get a summary of stock across various locations. It's designed for quick, high-level checks on your product supply.
This MCP Server touches customer details and order records. Because it handles user account information, you must ensure your AI client is configured to manage authentication tokens correctly when running the agent.
