Retrieve data using the MCP Server.

Need to find out what's already there? The `get_notebook` tool pulls down all the details for a specific notebook. Likewise, you can use `get_notecard` to grab the full text and metadata of one note. This gives Cline the foundational data it needs before writing any code or building components based on Zoho Notebook content.

Modify notecards in your project with Cline.

If you find a card that's wrong, `update_notecard` lets you fix it directly. You can also generate new notes using `create_notecard`. These tools handle the entire lifecycle of a note within Zoho Notebook. Cline uses this to ensure the data sources for your dashboard are always accurate and current.

Advanced search capabilities in Zoho Notebook.

Don't want to scroll through hundreds of cards? Use `search_notecards`. You just give it a notebook ID, and the server pulls back only the notes matching your query. It's way better than manual browsing. This is crucial for Cline because you need targeted data—you don't want boilerplate code based on irrelevant notes.

Common questions about Zoho Notebook MCP in Cline

Use the `get_notebook` tool. You just provide the ID, and the MCP Server returns the full structure of that notebook from Zoho Notebook. It's a single command.
Yes. The `create_notecard` tool lets you write brand-new notes. You must specify the target notebook ID first, making sure your data lands exactly where it should.
The `search_notecards` tool handles this. You provide a notebook ID and criteria, and the MCP Server filters all notes down to just what you need.
It does. You can use `delete_notebook` or `delete_notecard`. If a note or entire notebook is garbage, Cline uses these tools to clean up the Zoho Notebook instance.
The MCP Server manages two types of records: notebooks (the containers) and notecards (the actual notes). All operations target the structural integrity of Zoho Notebook.
