AutoGen: Consensus on Zoom Meeting Scheduling

Need to schedule a meeting, but stakeholders disagree? Set up multiple agents—a 'Scheduler' agent and a 'Risk Assessment' agent. The Scheduler calls `list_meetings` to check availability, while the Risk agent debates potential time conflicts. The process runs until consensus is reached. You don't just get an answer; you get the negotiation that led to the final decision.

Debating Zoom Webinar Requirements with AutoGen

Let a 'Compliance' agent check if your webinar meets standards while another calls `get_webinar` for existing details. They debate changes until a final, approved set of parameters is agreed upon before calling `create_webinar`. This uses the framework to simulate complex decision-making where multiple viewpoints must converge on one action.

Automated User Management through AutoGen's MCP Server

You can set up a 'HR Agent' and an 'Audit Agent'. The HR Agent calls `list_users` to get the roster. Then, the Audit Agent challenges the list by calling `get_user` on specific accounts, ensuring all necessary data points are verified. This simulates a structured review process, moving beyond simple single-tool execution into deliberation.

Setup guide

Set up Zoom MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Zoom tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Zoom_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Zoom data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Zoom MCP in AutoGen

You set up competing agents. One agent calls `list_meetings` to gather data, and a second agent is tasked solely with detecting conflicts among the returned records until they reach an agreement.
Absolutely. Since it uses multi-agent debate, you can model any workflow that requires deliberation—like deciding whether to `delete_meeting` based on two agents agreeing on its status.
You task the agent team. One agent pulls initial data via `get_webinar`, and another validates that data against required parameters before giving you a final report.
Yes, because of its multi-agent nature, it supports any function where the result isn't obvious—like updating a meeting topic while ensuring all associated user roles are also valid.
This server touches user configuration data and scheduled meeting details. Specifically, it manages `user` records when you call the `get_user` tool.
