LangChain: Multi-Step Meeting Automation via MCP Server

Need to figure out who needs to be in a meeting? The agent runs the workflow itself. First, it calls `list_users` to gather all available people. Next, it uses that list and sends it to `create_meeting`, automatically setting up the event with the right attendees. This works because the output of one tool becomes the input for the next step in your chain. You're not just calling tools; you're building a full reasoning pipeline where the agent decides which function to call and when.

Managing Zoom Webinars with LangChain Chains

Forget writing separate code for every single action. Start by asking your agent to `get_webinar` details, giving you all the current info on a specific event. Then, if the topic needs changing, it uses that information and calls `update_meeting`, keeping everything consistent across your chain. This sequence handles the complexity. It’s about chaining operations—getting data first, validating it, and then executing an update or creation step using the results.

Listing Zoom Events with LangChain Agents

To get a clear picture of your schedule, you can use `list_meetings` to pull every scheduled event into one place. If you need more detail on just one, say the agenda, the agent passes that specific meeting ID to `get_meeting`, pulling deep details for you. This combination lets you list broad data and then drill down quickly using a second tool call, all within one coherent, traceable process.

Setup guide

Set up Zoom MCP in LangChain

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • langchain-mcp-adapters + langgraph packages
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install dependencies

    Run pip install langchain-mcp-adapters langgraph langchain-openai. The MCP adapters package converts MCP tools into native LangChain BaseTool objects.

  2. 2

    Connect via HTTP transport

    Use MultiServerMCPClient with "transport": "http" pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create a ReAct agent

    Pass the discovered tools to create_react_agent() from LangGraph. The agent automatically routes Zoom tool calls through the MCP protocol.

  4. 4

    Run with any LLM

    Swap ChatOpenAI for ChatAnthropic, ChatGoogleGenerativeAI, or any LangChain-compatible model. The MCP tools work identically across all providers.

agent.py
from langchain_mcp_adapters.client import MultiServerMCPClient
from langgraph.prebuilt import create_react_agent
from langchain_openai import ChatOpenAI

async with MultiServerMCPClient({
    "zoom-mcp": {
        "transport": "http",
        "url": "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp",
    }
}) as client:
    tools = client.get_tools()

    agent = create_react_agent(
        ChatOpenAI(model="gpt-4o"),
        tools,
    )
    result = await agent.ainvoke({
        "messages": "List recent Zoom transactions"
    })
    print(result["messages"][-1].content)

Common questions about Zoom MCP in LangChain

You can use the agent to run `list_meetings` and then pass those results to another function that checks for conflicts. The agent handles the whole sequence, so you get a clear answer about availability immediately.
Yes. You can call `list_users` to pull a roster of all users on your Zoom account. The agent treats this list as structured data, allowing subsequent steps in the chain to operate only on verified user identifiers.
The ReAct agent handles updates smoothly. You feed it a meeting ID and the new topic, and it executes `update_meeting` without you having to write boilerplate code for finding the existing record first.
It does. The LangChain framework is built to handle multiple sources of truth, meaning you can combine data pulled from the Zoom MCP Server with information coming from other databases or APIs.
This server touches user configuration data and scheduled meeting details. Specifically, it manages `user` records when you call the `get_user` tool.
