Before you connect
Questions about Checkout.com.
The practical details behind the request, access and result.
Can I use the Checkout.com MCP to process refunds?
Yes, you can use the Connector to request refunds for captured payments through your AI agent. It handles the communication with the gateway so you don't have to log into the dashboard.
How many currencies can the Checkout.com MCP handle?
It supports transactions across 150+ currencies. Your agent will handle the minor unit math to ensure your financial data stays accurate.
Can I check my webhook status with the Checkout.com MCP?
Yes, you can list and review your configured webhooks. This is great for making sure your external apps are receiving the real-time data they need.
Is the Checkout.com MCP safe for handling payments?
This Connector uses your existing Checkout.com Secret Key and API Prefix. It follows the same security protocols as the official Unified API to manage your transactions.
What happens when I ask my agent to void a payment?
The Connector will call the void function to cancel an authorized but uncaptured payment. This clears the hold on your customer's funds immediately.
Can I see the history of a specific transaction?
Yes, you can ask the agent to list all lifecycle actions for a specific payment ID. It will return a chronological list of every action taken on that payment.
Can I process a refund for a payment ID through the agent?
Yes! Use the refund_checkout_payment capability with the payment ID. You can also specify an optional amount in minor units for a partial refund. The agent will trigger the refund process in Checkout.com immediately.
How do I see the full history of actions for a payment?
Use the list_payment_actions capability with the unique payment ID. Your agent will fetch all lifecycle events, such as Authorization, Capture, and Refund, along with their timestamps.
Where do I find my API Prefix?
The API Prefix is the first 8 characters of your client_id (excluding the cli_ prefix). You can also find it in your Checkout.com Hub under Developers -> API Keys.
