Key Capabilities
Autonomously build PDF pipelines with Windsurf
Windsurf uses `convert_html_to_pdf` to instantly generate documents from raw HTML strings inside your Cascade panel. Cascade reads your active workspace files, feeds them to the Gotenberg engine, and saves the output locally. If you have dynamic web content, Cascade chains `convert_url_to_pdf` with `merge_pdfs` to compile multi-page reports. The Windsurf agent handles the file paths and execution order automatically without prompting you for each step.
Render layouts from Markdown or raw code
Gotenberg converts simple text files into print-ready files using `convert_markdown_to_pdf` inside your active Windsurf session. You write the text, and Cascade runs the document conversion in the background. For visual debugging, Cascade calls `screenshot_html` to capture visual regression states of your components. This lets you inspect layout issues directly in your Windsurf workspace without opening an external browser.
Automate PDF metadata and document splitting
This MCP Server uses `split_pdf` to break down large documents based on your instructions to Cascade. The Windsurf agent handles the zip payload and extracts the files into your project tree. You can also update document headers by calling `write_pdf_metadata` to inject custom fields via Cascade. Cascade reads the existing structure via `read_pdf_metadata` before applying the edits.
