Key Capabilities

Headless validation with Claude Code

Run `validate_openapi` directly from your terminal to gate your CI/CD pipeline. Claude Code checks your spec version and validity without a GUI. It prints the error path to stdout. You can pipe this output into your own scripts to block bad commits.

Automate spec quality in Claude Code

Integrate the validator into your shell scripts or GitHub Actions. When Claude Code executes, it ensures every spec meets the standard before you build. This prevents structural errors from reaching production. You save hours by failing fast.

Support for all versions in Claude Code

Whether you are on Swagger 2.0 or OpenAPI 3.2, the tool handles the parsing. Claude Code uses `validate_openapi` to ensure compatibility across your microservices. It is built for the command line. You get the data you need without any fluff.

Common questions about OpenAPI Validator Engine MCP in Claude Code

Use the command line to add the server via HTTP transport. Once added, Claude Code treats `validate_openapi` as a native command for your terminal tasks.
Absolutely. It is designed for headless use. You can script Claude Code to run the validator and exit with a non-zero code if the schema fails.
Yes. It supports Swagger 2.0 through OpenAPI 3.2. The tool reports the version it validated against so you know exactly what was checked.
It gives you a JSON object containing the version, a boolean for validity, and a list of specific error paths and messages.
The server runs as an ephemeral process in your terminal environment. It only processes the spec text in RAM and never writes your API definitions to any external database or disk.
