Key Capabilities

BigQuery-Ready Compliance Reporting

Your agent can pull massive datasets from OpenTHC and load them right into BigQuery for analysis. Use `list_b2b_transactions` and `list_b2c_transactions` to grab years of sales history. Gemini's long context means your agent won't lose track of what it's doing. Once in BigQuery, you can analyze everything from sales velocity by strain (`list_varieties`) to lab result trends (`list_lab_results`). This isn't just about simple queries; it's about feeding your enterprise data warehouse with clean, structured compliance data from the source.

Automate Multi-Facility Operations

Managing more than one location? Your Google ADK agent can handle it. It uses `list_companies` and `list_licenses` to keep track of every legal entity and their status. It knows which license applies to which facility. The agent can then coordinate inventory transfers between sites. It checks `list_inventory` at the source, `list_sections` at the destination to ensure there's space, and then creates a record in `list_b2b_transactions` to make it official. This MCP server provides the ground-truth data for complex logistics.

Integrate OpenTHC into Your Google ADK Agent

Getting started is simple. You define an `McpToolset` pointing to your Vinkius server URL. That's it. The ADK framework makes all 12 OpenTHC tools available to your `LlmAgent` instantly. You can even be selective. Use the `tool_names` filter to expose only specific tools, like `list_plants` and `list_inventory`, to a cultivation-focused agent. It's a good way to enforce separation of duties at the agent level.

Setup guide

Set up OpenTHC MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with OpenTHC tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="OpenTHC_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to OpenTHC tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about OpenTHC MCP in Google ADK

After `pip install google-adk`, you create an `McpToolset` and point it to your secure Vinkius server URL. Then you pass that toolset to your `LlmAgent`. The framework handles the rest.
Absolutely. That's the main advantage. Your agent can pull transaction data via `list_b2c_transactions` from OpenTHC, then use native Google Cloud tools to cross-reference it with marketing campaign data in BigQuery to calculate ROI.
The ADK will raise exceptions if the server is unreachable or returns a malformed response. Your agent's code is responsible for catching these errors. For example, if a call to `list_licenses` fails, you should program your agent to halt the process, not proceed with an invalid license.
Use a dedicated agent. It should continuously monitor `list_inventory` at all sites. By combining this with `list_b2b_transactions` for in-transit stock and `list_b2c_transactions` for retail sales, the agent can maintain a near real-time global inventory view.
Your data remains under your control. The Vinkius-hosted MCP server acts as a secure proxy, authenticating requests with your token. It processes queries for OpenTHC product, lab, and license data, but doesn't store anything long-term. The ephemeral, zero-trust environment ensures your requests are processed in isolation.
