Key Capabilities

Analyze visual changes using Google ADK and Gemini

This MCP Server exposes Percy's visual regression tools to Google ADK. Gemini uses `list_projects` to pull your build history and maps layout changes across thousands of pages simultaneously. By passing the toolset to your `LlmAgent`, you feed raw visual metadata into Gemini's million-token context window. The agent processes outputs from `list_snapshots` to find patterns in layout failures across your entire enterprise catalog.

Audit cross-browser visual bugs automatically

Exposing browser target configurations through `list_browsers` lets your agent map layout errors on different viewport sizes. It checks specific design discrepancies across Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. When Gemini detects a rendering issue, it queries `list_comparisons` to calculate the exact percentage of pixel deviation. The agent then correlates this visual data with your inventory tables stored in BigQuery to prioritize fixes.

Update visual baselines via Google ADK

Updating visual testing baselines directly from your deployment pipelines is handled by this server. The server allows your deployment pipelines to update visual baselines instantly using `approve_snapshot` or `approve_build`. You initialize this by declaring the MCP Server toolset with your HTTP parameters and passing it directly to the agent's tools array. You can use the `tool_names` filter to restrict the agent to read-only actions like `get_build_details` in staging.

Setup guide

Set up Percy MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Percy tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Percy_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Percy tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Percy MCP in Google ADK

Initialize `McpToolset` with your Vinkius server URL and append it to your `LlmAgent` tools parameter to expose tools like `list_builds` to your agent.
Yes. The agent can call `list_comparisons` to retrieve diff image URLs, then use Gemini's multimodal vision capabilities to inspect the visual errors.
Use the `tool_names` filter in your `McpToolset` configuration to only expose safe tools like `get_project_details` and block write tools like `approve_build`.
Absolutely. Your agent can cross-reference build metadata from `list_builds` with deployment logs in BigQuery to generate visual quality reports.
The server handles only project metadata and snapshot statuses. Your actual visual DOM snapshots and layout assets are sent directly to Percy over encrypted HTTPS channels via V8-isolated sandboxes.
