Key Capabilities
Generate production-ready WhatsApp code with Cursor
The `send_template` tool lets you test and deploy pre-approved WhatsApp notifications directly from your editor. When writing custom backend routes, Cursor uses this MCP Server to verify payload structures against live API requirements. You get actual API responses instead of mock data. This speeds up debugging when formatting variables for shipping alerts or verification codes.
Build event-driven messaging pipelines
The `trigger_journey_event` tool fires Webhook Data Source events to activate complex automation paths. This MCP setup is the most reliable way to connect your application backend to WhatsApp without hardcoding drip sequences. Your editor agent can draft the entire webhook payload for you. It maps user sign-ups or payment failures to specific journey IDs instantly.
Track campaign performance inside your editor
The `fetch_campaign_stats` tool reads delivery, read, and reply metrics directly into your terminal or chat window. This endpoint will sunset in June 2026, so we recommend using it for immediate debugging rather than long-term infrastructure. For legacy setups, you can also use `trigger_drip_campaign` to test scheduled sequences. Plan to replace these with journey webhooks before the June 2026 deprecation date.
