Key Capabilities

Role-based team monitoring with CrewAI

Assign a 'Monitor Agent' to track team activity using `list_updates`. This agent focuses exclusively on identifying patterns in how your team reports progress. It separates the task of data collection from task execution. You get a clean separation of concerns where one agent gathers the facts while another acts on them.

Automated collaboration with shared memory

Your crew shares memory of previous results from `get_user` and `get_team`. One agent learns the team structure, allowing other agents to tailor their responses accordingly. This makes your autonomous operations feel more natural. Agents don't just execute commands; they understand the context of who they are helping.

Hierarchical status management

Configure your crew to use `list_objectives` for hierarchical execution. A manager agent reviews high-level goals and delegates specific status checks to worker agents. It mirrors real human team structures. You scale your operations without needing to manually oversee every interaction between your agents and the data.

Setup guide

Set up Range MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Range tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Range Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Range data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Range access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Range transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Range MCP in CrewAI

Pass the server URL into your Agent definition's mcps list. CrewAI handles the connection, allowing your agents to use any of the 11 tools immediately.
Yes, agents share tool results in their memory. If one agent fetches a team member's details via `get_user`, the others can use that info for their own tasks.
It does. You can give your manager agent access to `list_goals` and worker agents access to `create_update` for a clean delegation of tasks.
The server uses a zero-trust model. Every tool interaction is authenticated via your token, and access is restricted to the specific endpoints defined in the server schema.
Agents can read update snippets, objective status, and team member profiles. They only see what you allow by granting them access to specific tools.
