Key Capabilities
Query Retable schemas directly inside Cursor
This MCP Server relies on `list_tables` and `get_table` to feed your Cursor agent the precise structure of your relational databases. The editor reads your columns and field types, allowing the AI to write database integrations that match your live schema. You write code against real-world table definitions rather than guessing column names or relying on outdated documentation. Your agent checks the active project layout and writes accurate TypeScript or Python models on the fly.
Read and write live records during code generation
The server executes `create_record` and `update_record` to let Cursor insert test data or update live spreadsheet rows as you write code. Your agent tests your database integration logic by running real transactions against your Retable tables. When debugging, the agent calls `get_record` and `list_records` to verify that your application code actually changed the database. This eliminates the need to keep a browser window open just to watch row updates.
Automate code testing with Retable status checks
Using `check_retable_status`, your Cursor agent verifies API connectivity before running complex database migrations or tests over this MCP bridge. If the connection fails, the editor flags the issue immediately, saving you from debugging empty API responses. You can also run `delete_record` through the editor's chat panel to clean up test rows generated during your coding session. It keeps your development and production tables tidy without leaving the IDE.
