Key Capabilities

Cursor integration for document extraction

Feed document data straight into your code files using `extract_sync_with_config`. Your agent reads the PDF content and writes the resulting JSON into your project files as you code. This keeps your development moving fast by eliminating the manual step of importing external data. You stay in the editor while the parsing happens in the background.

Version control for your extraction logic

Use `list_configuration_versions` to track changes to your parsing schemas. Since you're working in Cursor, you can keep your extraction configurations as disciplined as your code. It makes debugging straightforward. If a new document layout breaks your parser, you can quickly check which configuration version is currently active and revert if necessary.

Automate document classification

Use `classify_async` to sort incoming documents into types before extraction begins. This tool organizes your data pipeline by identifying the document structure automatically. It saves you from writing complex branching logic in your code. The server does the categorization, so your application logic only handles the data once it's identified correctly.

Setup guide

Set up Sensible MCP in Cursor

Prerequisites

  • Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP Settings

Go to Cursor Settings → MCP or open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and search for "MCP: Add Server".

  2. 2

    Add the Sensible MCP

Cursor will create or open .cursor/mcp.json in your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable Agent mode

Open Composer (Cmd+I / Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

Ask Cursor something like "List my recent Sensible transactions." If the MCP tools are loaded correctly, Cursor will call the Sensible tools automatically. You can also check Settings → MCP for a green status indicator.

Common questions about Sensible MCP in Cursor

Enable Agent mode in Cursor, and the AI can call these tools to parse documents as it builds features. It treats the server as an extension of your own code.
You can choose. Place your config in .cursor/mcp.json for project-specific tools, or put it in your home directory for a global setup that works in every project.
Yes. The `generate_csv` tool compiles your extraction results into a file that you can save directly into your project repository for quick access.
The server treats your document data as ephemeral. It processes the extraction and returns the result, without retaining your sensitive business files on its own infrastructure.
Use `update_document_type` via the chat interface to modify your schema on the fly. You don't need to leave your current coding session to keep your parser updated.
