Key Capabilities

Team-wide document parsing in VS Code

Commit your extraction settings to the repository via `.vscode/mcp.json`. Every developer on your team will have access to the same `extract_from_url` tools, ensuring consistency across the project. This removes the "it works on my machine" problem for document processing. Your entire team uses the same configurations to parse PDFs or images.

Monitor extraction performance

Use `get_extraction_statistics` to see how well your parsing pipeline is performing across the team. It gives you a clear view of success rates and coverage. You can identify which document types need better configurations. It's a simple way to keep your data quality high as your extraction volume grows.

Manage reference documents

Use `list_goldens` to keep track of the reference files used for your parsing engine. These goldens help the system understand your specific document layouts. It makes managing large sets of document templates easy. You can update or remove them using `delete_golden` to ensure your engine only uses the most accurate and recent data.

Setup guide

Set up Sensible MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the Sensible MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the Sensible tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent Sensible transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.
