Key Capabilities

Inventory Validation Debate

Need to know if a product can sell? Have one agent call `get_product_details` for the specs. A second agent calls `list_products` and checks the current stock count. The agents debate which data source is most reliable, converging on a single, agreed-upon availability status.

Customer Eligibility Check

A system can't just assume anything. You set up agents: one calls `list_customers` for basic info, and another runs `list_orders` to check purchase history. They argue over if the customer qualifies for a discount based on their activity.

Store Configuration Review

Use AutoGen when decisions are tricky. One agent calls `get_shop_info` while another runs `list_collections`. The agents then discuss whether the current store setup makes sense for a specific product category, challenging each other's assumptions.

Setup guide

Set up Shopline MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Shopline tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Shopline_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Shopline data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Shopline MCP in AutoGen

You set up agents to handle complexity. One agent might call `get_order_details` for item X, and another calls `get_product_details` for item Y. They negotiate the best shipping method or required inventory check.
Yes. You can create an agent debate where one reviews `list_products` data and another checks for missing collection links, forcing a consensus on the correct catalog structure.
The process becomes a debate. Instead of one linear call, multiple agents take turns calling tools like `list_orders` until they reach a definitive conclusion or flag an unresolved conflict.
The system forces accuracy by having multiple agents verify the results. If one agent calls `get_shop_info`, another can cross-reference that against a list of collections to confirm consistency.
The server touches customer profiles and order details. When agents work together, they handle sensitive info like user names from `list_customers` while discussing purchase history retrieved via `get_order_details`.
