Key Capabilities

Running end-to-end sign-in flows

The `signup_user` tool handles creating a brand new account. After that, you can immediately use `signin_user` to complete the authentication process. Don't forget `create_session`. Running this right after signup or login ensures your service has an active session token for immediate use.

Managing user relationships via Cline

You can link accounts using `link_accounts` if a user changes their primary email, for instance. Conversely, running `unlink_accounts` cleanly severs the connection between two separate identity sources. Need to adjust roles? Use `create_or_update_role` and then `assign_role_to_user`.

Accessing core user data with Cline

Pull specific details on a user by calling `get_user`. If you need more context, use `list_user_roles` to see every permission they hold. You can also get granular details using `get_user_metadata`.

Prerequisites

  • VS Code with Cline extension installed
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token

Click the Cline icon in the VS Code sidebar to open the Cline panel. Then click the MCP Servers icon (server stack) at the top-right corner of the panel.

  2. 2

    Add a remote server

Click "Remote Servers" at the top, then click "Add Remote MCP". In the Name field, type supertokens-mcp. In the URL field, paste your Vinkius endpoint: https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp. Get your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable the server

After saving, the server appears in the Cline MCP panel. Toggle the switch to enable it. The status indicator turns green when the connection is live.

  4. 4

    Start using tools

Return to the Cline chat and ask: "Check my latest SuperTokens refund status." Cline will discover the available tools and request your approval before invoking each one — giving you full control over every action.

Common questions about SuperTokens MCP in Cline

The process is two steps: first, check existing permissions by running `list_user_roles`. Then you call `assign_role_to_user` to grant the necessary access.
Yes. You use `create_or_update_tenant` to establish a new organizational boundary or update existing details with `get_tenant`. This keeps multi-client applications isolated.
It touches user metadata. To comply, you must use `delete_user_metadata` to remove specific profile information when requested by the user or legally required.
Sure thing. If a session is active but aging out, run `refresh_session`. This maintains continuous access without forcing the user to re-authenticate every time.
You use `link_accounts` or `unlink_accounts` to manage those connections. It keeps your single user profile accurate even if they sign in via different methods.
