Key Capabilities

Analyze Billable Hours at Scale

Quit exporting CSVs. Your agent can now directly query time tracking data into your Google Cloud environment. Use `list_timeghost_entries` to pull thousands of records straight from the source. Because Gemini models have a massive context window, you can feed huge entry lists into your agent for complex analysis. Have it identify budget overruns or resource allocation patterns across an entire year's worth of data without breaking a sweat.

Connect Projects to Cloud Resources

Give your agent a complete picture of your work. It can pull your entire project portfolio with `list_timeghost_projects`, get specifics on one with `get_timeghost_project`, and then drill into its deliverables using `list_timeghost_tasks`. The agent can then cross-reference this data with your resources in Google Cloud. Think of an agent that checks if a project from timeghost has a corresponding GKE cluster or a dedicated service account.

Manage Teams with a Google ADK MCP Server

Your agent can now manage project access and team structures. It can use `list_timeghost_workspaces` to see all your environments, `list_timeghost_members` to check who is on what team, and `list_timeghost_clients` to align work with customers. This is the key to building agents that sync your timeghost setup with Google Workspace groups or other IAM policies. The agent can verify everything is configured correctly by calling `check_timeghost_status` and even inspect individual records with `get_timeghost_entry` or `get_timeghost_task`.

Setup guide

Set up timeghost MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with timeghost tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="timeghost_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to timeghost tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about timeghost MCP in Google ADK

You wrap the server URL in an `McpToolset` and pass it to your agent's `tools` parameter. The ADK handles the rest, making all the timeghost tools available for your agent to call.
Absolutely. The agent can fetch data using this MCP server's tools, like `list_timeghost_projects`, and then use Google ADK's native BigQuery tools to write that data to a table. This is perfect for building data warehousing pipelines.
Anything you can describe in a prompt. You can ask it to find projects over budget, identify consultants with low billable hours, or summarize weekly progress by pulling data from timeghost and reasoning over it.
No. You just need the Vinkius URL for the server. There are no individual tool configurations to manage; the `McpToolset` in the Google ADK discovers all the available tools automatically.
The connection is protected by your Vinkius token. This server is read-only, so the agent can't alter your source data. It only touches the time entries, project details, and client names your API key is authorized to see, and the server runs in a sandboxed, ephemeral environment.
