How to Use the AbuseIPDB MCP in Cursor
Use Cursor to query AbuseIPDB and inject live security context straight into your codebase.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect AbuseIPDB MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect AbuseIPDB to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Automate IP checks in Cursor
Invoke `check_ip_address` while coding to validate suspicious logs. The tool returns the abuse score directly into your editor context. This stops you from context switching. Your agent reads the result and helps you write code that handles the IP accordingly.
Review threat lists inside Cursor
Trigger `get_abuse_blacklist` to load current high-risk IPs into your active file. You can compare these IPs against your own access logs. Your agent analyzes this data to suggest security patches. It makes spotting malicious traffic part of your standard workflow.
Deep dive into reports with Cursor
Execute `get_ip_abuse_reports` to fetch detailed logs for an IP you're investigating. You see exactly what kind of activity was flagged. This provides the evidence you need to build better filters. It keeps your logic grounded in real-time threat data.
