Let AutoGen agents coordinate Agora cloud recordings

`acquire_cloud_recording` gets the initial resource token, which a coordinator agent then passes to a recording agent. The recording agent calls `start_cloud_recording` only after a security agent verifies the channel name. This multi-agent setup prevents accidental recordings. The agents use `query_cloud_recording` to monitor the stream, debating whether to call `stop_cloud_recording` based on active user counts.

Multi-agent consensus for Agora project creation

`create_project` initializes a new Agora application environment when triggered by your development agent. A separate finance agent then calls `get_usage_stats` to verify the budget before approving the project activation. Instead of running blind API calls, your agents discuss the necessity of the project. This consensus-driven approach ensures you never spin up duplicate Agora environments or waste resources.

Secure Agora session monitoring with AutoGen MCP Server

`list_active_calls` scans your video channels to detect active streams and participant counts. A monitoring agent analyzes this list and alerts an admin agent if an unauthorized user joins. The agents negotiate the correct response, such as pulling details via `get_project_details`. This turns simple API monitoring into a collaborative security operation.

Setup guide

Set up Agora MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Agora tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Agora_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Agora data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Agora MCP in AutoGen

Install autogen-ext[mcp] and configure the StreamableHttpServerParams with your Vinkius MCP endpoint. Pass the tools directly to your AssistantAgent constructor to let them use the API.
Yes, one agent runs acquire_cloud_recording while another executes start_cloud_recording. They communicate via JSON messages to hand off the required resource IDs.
Yes, the McpToolAdapter automatically translates the Agora tool schemas into format-compliant definitions for AutoGen. Your agents can read and execute the tools without manual schema mapping.
Yes, your agents call list_whiteboard_rooms to monitor active collaborative spaces. They then coordinate with other agents to archive inactive whiteboard sessions.
Vinkius isolates all MCP Server execution within a sandboxed V8 environment. Your project details, active call lists, and authentication tokens are never stored or exposed to external networks.
