Script Insurance Market Audits

`list_products` executes directly from your command line to dump commercial insurance options into stdout. You can pipe this output into jq or redirect it to a log file for weekly market analysis. Your terminal agent chains this with `get_product` to pull deep underwriting details for specific policies. This lets you build cron jobs that track changes in carrier appetite over time without ever opening a browser.

Resolve Industry Codes Headless

`suggest_naics` translates raw business descriptions into standardized classification codes via your CLI. Pass a text file of unformatted trades, and the agent processes them in bulk. For broader mapping, `list_classifications` pulls entire industry trees. You can script the agent to format this data into SQL insert statements and pipe it straight into your staging database.

Monitor Carrier Endpoints via MCP Server

`list_companies` grabs the active insurer registry for your backend services via the MCP Server. Claude Code takes that data and checks it against your internal database to flag missing carriers. If you need to drill down, the agent fires `get_company_products` for specific missing entries. It verifies its own access first using `get_account_check` so your automated terminal scripts fail gracefully if tokens expire.

Common questions about Ask Kodiak MCP in Claude Code

Run claude mcp add --transport http ask-kodiak -- . Make sure all flags precede the server name. Verify the installation with claude mcp list.
Yes. Set your endpoint token as an environment variable and run the CLI headlessly. It can validate your hardcoded NAICS mappings against the live database during builds.
Ask the agent to fetch the carrier details and write them to disk. It handles the API calls and formats the output as JSON or CSV directly in your working directory.
No. Every MCP command triggers a fresh request to the server. You always get real-time carrier appetite and product availability straight to your terminal.
The Vinkius zero-trust architecture ensures no local environment variables leak. The server only processes the specific NAICS strings or product IDs you pass in, keeping your local system data isolated.
