Connect AutoGen MCP to Google ADK

Create your Vinkius account to connect AutoGen to Google ADK and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.

Run AutoGen workflows on Google ADK

Use `list_workflows` to map out your enterprise logic. This connects your existing Google Cloud setup to the agent brain. Execute tasks using `create_message` to push data into your Gemini-powered agents. It handles the heavy lifting of long-context reasoning for you.

Inspect AutoGen models with Google ADK

Call `list_models` to see which LLMs are ready for your tasks. You can switch between configurations to find the right balance for your enterprise data. This keeps your agent logic decoupled from the underlying model. You just point to the right resource and start running.

Track session history in Google ADK

Use `list_sessions` to monitor active conversations across your infrastructure. It gives you a clear view of what your agents are currently processing. Retrieve old logs with `list_messages` for auditing. You have full access to the message history whenever you need to check for compliance.

Setup guide

Set up AutoGen MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with AutoGen tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="AutoGen_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to AutoGen tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about AutoGen MCP in Google ADK

It is. You simply import the toolset and pass it into your agent definition to start calling functions.
You can use a tool_names filter to restrict which tools the agent can touch. This limits the blast radius of your autonomous agents.
You can. By exposing your query logic as skills, your agents can pull data directly from your tables.
Call the `list_agents` tool. It returns a clean list of every configured entity available to your current session.
Your information never leaves the Vinkius VPC. We isolate your session messages from other tenants to prevent cross-contamination.
