Standardized image generation in VS Code

Use `create_image` to generate assets directly from your editor. Your whole team uses the same templates defined in your project config. This ensures consistent branding across the entire engineering department. Everyone runs the same tools with the same configuration.

Sync templates across VS Code

Use `list_templates` to pull the latest project designs into your workspace. It keeps your team aligned on available assets. Calling `get_template` gives you the current field map. You avoid errors by checking the required input fields before sending data.

Batch processing with VS Code

Run `create_collection` to mass-produce assets for your marketing site. Your team can initiate these jobs directly through the Copilot chat window. It removes the need for manual file handling. The server handles the generation while your team continues developing features.

Set up Bannerbear (Image Gen) MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

Add the Bannerbear (Image Gen) MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the Bannerbear (Image Gen) tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent Bannerbear (Image Gen) transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.
