Cursor MCP Server for Live Project Data
Injecting actual project IDs into your codebase happens instantly. You activate Agent mode, ask for your current workspaces, and the editor runs `list_projects` to fetch active or archived directories. Getting the exact dock configuration requires `get_project`, which returns the numeric IDs for message boards and to-do sets. Hardcoding mock data wastes time. Your agent pulls real team member details by executing `list_people` or `list_project_people` to grab actual names, emails, and roles. You get accurate assignee IDs injected straight into your configuration files or API tests without leaving the IDE.
Automate To-Do Creation Mid-Code
Writing deployment scripts often requires tracking tasks in your project management tool. Cursor can generate a new task for your QA team by firing `create_todo` with a specific todolist_id and YYYY-MM-DD due date. Updating an existing ticket during a refactor triggers `update_todo` to append new notes or change assignees. Closing out work happens right from the command palette. Your agent executes `complete_todo` to mark a task done as soon as your tests pass. Reverting a false positive is just as fast using `uncomplete_todo` to push the item back to the pending list.
Read and Write Discussion Comments
Pulling recent API feedback from your team does not require opening a browser. The editor runs `list_messages` to grab title previews and author names from the project message board. Fetching the exact technical requirements from a specific post involves calling `get_message` to read the full content. Sending updates back to the team happens right in the same chat panel. You prompt the agent with your release notes, and it calls `create_comment` to post rich HTML text to a specific recording ID. Everyone subscribed to that recording gets notified immediately while you keep your hands on the keyboard.
