How to Use the Beeceptor MCP in Windsurf
Give Windsurf Cascade direct control over your API mocks and intercepted traffic without leaving the editor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Beeceptor MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Beeceptor to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Build Mock APIs with Windsurf Cascade
The Beeceptor MCP Server lets your agent define and modify API responses on the fly. Cascade reads your frontend code and automatically creates the exact endpoints you need using `create_rule`. You don't have to manually configure payloads. Cascade chains `list_rules` to check existing endpoints, then fires `bulk_replace_rules` to swap out entire mock environments when you switch testing contexts.
Inspect Traffic Inside the IDE
Stop switching between your code and a browser dashboard to check payloads. Cascade grabs live traffic data via `list_requests` and matches it against your local types. When a test fails, Windsurf pulls the exact failure context using `get_request`. It reads the headers and body, identifies the mismatch, and writes the fix directly to your files.
Manage Stateful Endpoints and OpenAPI Specs
Windsurf handles stateful mock interactions by reading and writing variables with `upsert_state` and `list_state`. You get dynamic API behavior without spinning up a real database. If your team updates the backend contract, Cascade pulls the new file and runs `upload_spec`. It checks the import progress via `get_job_status` and updates your frontend fetch calls to match the new schema.
