How to Use the Bitly MCP in Cursor
Inject real-time link metrics into your codebase using the Bitly MCP Server and Cursor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Bitly MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Bitly to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Shorten URLs while coding in Cursor
Generate new links as you write code by triggering `shorten_url`. You can automate your link creation process and keep your project assets current without context switching. Use `list_bitlinks` to verify your existing URLs. This keeps your project documentation accurate by pulling live data from your account.
Analyze link traffic in Cursor
Ask the agent to explain performance trends using `get_clicks` or `get_referrers` while you debug. Seeing live numbers alongside your code helps you make better decisions about your marketing endpoints. Break down traffic sources by country using `get_countries`. This data feeds directly into your editor, giving you context that static mocks cannot provide.
Manage link groups via Cursor
Switch between your development and production link groups using `list_groups`. It keeps your URL management tied to the specific project you have open. Update your link titles on the fly with `update_bitlink`. You can also generate assets like QR codes for your apps using `create_qr_code` without leaving your IDE.
