How to Use the Bitly MCP in Windsurf
Generate short links and analyze click data inside Windsurf while Cascade handles your marketing campaigns.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Bitly MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Bitly to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Bulk url shortening inside Windsurf
The `shorten_url` tool lets Cascade convert long raw links in your markdown files or code comments into short Bitly links. When you ask Cascade to update a documentation file, it scans for external links and shortens them in one pass. You do not need to manually copy links back and forth. Windsurf uses `update_bitlink` to add titles to these links, keeping your Bitly dashboard organized while you focus on writing code.
Track click metrics inside Cascade
The `get_clicks` tool retrieves real-time click volume for any short link directly inside your Windsurf chat. Cascade can run this tool to check how your latest release links are performing. Cascade handles the multi-step retrieval autonomously through this MCP Server so you just read the final breakdown. It combines this with `get_countries` and `get_referrers` to build a quick markdown report of your traffic.
Generate and place QR codes in your code
The `create_qr_code` tool generates QR codes for your assets and saves them directly into your Windsurf project directory. Cascade can write a script, generate the QR code, and update your landing page image source in one run. Instead of jumping to a browser to download an image, the MCP Server lets Windsurf handle the asset creation. Cascade chains the generation and file placement without waiting for your permission.
