Run terminal-based contract audits

The `get_contract_source_code` tool downloads verified smart contract files directly into your terminal session using this MCP Server. Claude Code reads the Solidity code, scans for common reentrancy bugs, and compares the deployment with your local files. You can pipe this output directly into local grep commands or shell scripts. Claude Code uses `get_contract_abi` to verify the interface and format the contract's public functions without opening a web browser.

Monitor network health from this MCP Server

The `get_indexing_status` tool checks the current block synchronization state of the Blockscout indexer. Claude Code uses this to verify that your queries reflect the absolute latest state of the chain. If you need raw network details, Claude Code calls `get_block` and `get_total_supply` to check block times and circulating supply. This lets you monitor chain health directly from your terminal during deployment scripts.

Query transaction logs in Claude Code

The `get_logs` tool retrieves specific event logs matching your topic filters directly inside the terminal using this MCP tool. Claude Code parses these raw logs, decodes the hex values, and displays human-readable event data. If a script fails, Claude Code uses `json_rpc` to execute arbitrary eth_call commands against the network. This lets you debug state variables and simulate transactions before committing gas on-chain.

Setup guide

Set up Blockscout MCP in Claude Code

Prerequisites

  • Claude Code CLI installed (npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token

Common questions about Blockscout MCP in Claude Code

Claude Code runs in your terminal, allowing you to direct the output of tools like `get_logs` into local files or shell utilities. It makes command-line blockchain analysis fast and scriptable.
Yes, Claude Code calls `get_account_balance` and `list_token_balances` to check native and ERC-20 balances. It prints the formatted balances directly to your terminal window.
Run the command `claude mcp add --transport http blockscout-mcp -- ` in your shell. Claude Code saves this to your local config and loads the tools instantly.
Yes, you can configure the server to point to any Blockscout instance. Claude Code will use `get_address` and other tools to query that specific network.
The tool only handles public blockchain addresses, transaction hashes, and contract ABIs. No private keys are ever processed, and Vinkius runs the server in an ephemeral sandbox to protect your terminal environment.
