How to Use the Blockscout MCP in Cline
Tell Cline to build web3 frontends, write unit tests, and debug transactions using live Blockscout blockchain data.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Blockscout MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Blockscout to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Build UI components with live Cline data
The `list_token_balances` tool fetches live ERC-20 balances for any wallet address to populate your local UI components using this MCP Server. Cline calls this tool, reads the JSON payload, and writes a React component that renders the wallet's portfolio in real-time. You don't have to write mock data generators or hardcode test wallets anymore. Cline pulls actual balances using `get_account_balance` and writes component tests that run against live on-chain values.
Auto-generate contract integrations in Cline
The `get_contract_abi` tool retrieves the verified ABI for any smart contract on Blockscout so Cline can generate TypeScript interfaces through the MCP connection. Cline reads the ABI, creates the typed contract wrapper, and writes the integration code directly into your codebase. If you need to verify how the contract behaves, Cline calls `get_contract_source_code` to read the original Solidity. The agent writes tests that match the exact functions deployed on-chain, saving you hours of manual translation.
Run deep transaction audits using this MCP Server
The `get_transaction` tool pulls the exact receipt, gas usage, and execution status for any transaction hash. Cline uses this data alongside `get_logs` to analyze smart contract events and trace execution paths. When debugging a failed transaction, Cline calls `get_account_internal_transactions` to find where the execution reverted. The agent then writes a fix for your local contract script based on those real-world gas limits.
