Terminal-based deal hunting with Claude Code

The CheapShark MCP Server brings real-time PC game deal aggregation directly to your command line. You can pipe the output of `get_deals` into other terminal utilities or local files. Your agent formats the JSON payload into clean terminal tables. No web browsers are needed to scan the top discounts.

Instant game lookup and store mapping

Searching for specific titles is fast when using `search_games` on this MCP server. Your agent queries titles or Steam App IDs to return exact matches. It resolves store names by running `get_stores` behind the scenes. You see where the game is cheapest, backed by detailed metadata from `get_game`.

Shell-driven price alert management

Managing price alerts is straightforward with the `manage_alert` tool on the MCP Server. You tell the agent to set a threshold for a game, and it registers your email. This action runs headlessly, making it easy to script. Automating alert creation becomes part of your local terminal workflows.

Common questions about CheapShark MCP in Claude Code

You ask the agent to search for a title. It executes `search_games` to find the game ID, then pulls the current pricing using `get_game`.
Yes. You can instruct the agent to run `manage_alert` with your email and target price, setting up notifications directly from your shell.
No local configuration is needed beyond adding the MCP server. Run the `claude mcp add` command with your Vinkius HTTP endpoint to connect it instantly.
The agent calls `get_stores` to translate numeric store IDs. It outputs actual retail names like Fanatical or Epic Games Store directly in your terminal.
Your email address is only sent to the alert manager to dispatch price drop notifications. Vinkius runs the MCP server in an isolated sandbox, keeping your alert data secure and private.
