CrewAI specialized team operations

Assign research agents to use `list_rows` and `list_tables`. A separate writer agent then takes those findings to execute `update_row`. Your agents share a memory space for document context. This ensures the crew stays aligned on the current state of your data.

Hierarchical Coda document management

Set up a manager agent to oversee document tasks. It reviews the output of `get_doc_details` and assigns sub-tasks to the rest of the crew. This structure handles complex data entry or cleanup projects. The manager agent ensures every row update follows your document rules.

Autonomous Coda document cleanup

Run a crew dedicated to maintaining your data quality. They use `list_columns` to audit your tables and `delete_rows` to purge old entries. Set these agents to run on a schedule. Your documents stay organized without you needing to lift a finger.

Setup guide

Set up Coda MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Coda tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Coda Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Coda data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Coda access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Coda transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Coda MCP in CrewAI

Add the Vinkius URL to the `mcps` list in your Agent definition. The agents will immediately have access to all document tools.
They share the toolset and memory. One agent can find a row and another can update it based on the shared task context.
All requests are scoped to the specific document ID you provide. The server maintains strict isolation between your agents and the document API.
Yes. Use the tool_filter parameter to limit which agent can read or write to your tables. This keeps your document structure secure.
Your agents can call `list_formulas` to understand how your tables calculate values. They can then use that info to write smarter updates.
