How to Use the Common Room MCP in Cursor
Build community-driven features in Cursor using live Common Room member and segment data.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Common Room MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Common Room to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Generate code using live Common Room MCP Server data
The `get_contact_by_email` tool lets Cursor fetch real community profiles to populate your local code templates. Your editor directly queries the API instead of relying on outdated mock JSON files. Cursor uses the returned Common Room schema to write typed interfaces automatically. You can test your local frontend components with actual member tags fetched via `get_contact_tags`.
Automate segment syncs within your workspace
The `add_contact_to_segment` tool lets your Cursor agent write and test integration scripts that modify user lists. You can run these commands directly from the editor's terminal interface. Developers use `list_segments` to verify segment IDs before deploying sync logic. Cursor checks `get_segment_status` to confirm the updates worked.
Inspect organization directories while writing code
The `search_organizations` tool retrieves real-time account records directly into your Cursor chat. You can inspect the structure of organization objects using `get_organization_details` while building custom CRM syncs. This workflow stops you from context-switching to browser tabs. You pull the exact data shapes you need right where you write your code.
