Pull Cvent Data into Google Cloud

Your Gemini agent can now talk to Cvent. Use the `list_events` tool to get a full inventory of your events, or `get_event_details` to drill down into a specific one. It’s the fastest way to get operational data out of Cvent using an MCP Server. This data is ready for your Google Cloud workflow. The agent can pull attendee lists with `list_event_attendees` and you can immediately pipe that into a BigQuery table for analysis. No more manual CSV exports.

Check Venues, Sessions, and Speakers

Give your Google ADK agent the tools to understand event logistics. It can use `list_available_venues` to check venue details or `list_event_sessions` to get the full agenda for any event. This is great for agents that need to answer questions about event schedules. The agent can also get information on who is speaking. The `list_event_speakers` tool provides names and bios. Since Google ADK handles long contexts, your agent can hold details for multiple events at once to compare them.

Advanced Search via MCP Server

Let your agent do the digging. The `search_events_by_filter` tool turns a simple query into a targeted Cvent API call. It's much faster than building the integration yourself. Your agent can also look up registration options with `list_registration_types` or get basic account info with `get_account_details`. This gives your Google-powered agent the context it needs to act on real-world event data.

Setup guide

Set up Cvent MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Cvent tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Cvent_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Cvent tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Cvent MCP in Google ADK

You'll use the `McpToolset` class. Just point it to the Vinkius server URL provided with your subscription. The ADK will then expose all the Cvent tools to your Gemini agent.
Yes, the `McpToolset` constructor in the Google ADK accepts a `tool_names` argument. You can pass a list of tool names like `['list_events', 'list_event_attendees']` to restrict the agent's access.
Absolutely. Your agent can use the `list_event_attendees` tool to fetch the data from Cvent. From there, your Python code can format and insert it directly into a BigQuery table for large-scale analysis.
Yes, it's a perfect fit. You can have your Google ADK agent call `get_event_details` for several different Cvent events and hold all the results in its context to answer comparative questions.
The server accesses Cvent event, attendee, speaker, and venue metadata. Vinkius processes each request in a sandboxed environment, and your connection is authenticated via a single token. Your Cvent event data is only streamed for the duration of the request and is not stored.
