How to Use the DatoCMS MCP in Cursor
Inject live DatoCMS API responses via MCP straight into your Cursor workspace to build frontends with real headless data.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect DatoCMS MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect DatoCMS to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Run live GraphQL inside Cursor
Stop mocking API responses when `execute_graphql_cda` can query your live schema. This MCP integration injects the real JSON directly into your editor. You get the exact schema context while you type thanks to `list_global_models`. The AI client runs it to pull your structured rules and item types before writing a single line of fetching logic.
Manage records via MCP Server
Seed your development environment without leaving the IDE using `create_cms_record`. Agent mode calls it to provision JSON payloads based on your local code. Need to update a test entry with `patch_cms_record`? The agent triggers it to mutate parameters safely, and then `wipe_cms_record` drops the live document rows to clean up.
Inspect media storage blocks
Build image galleries using actual production assets by calling `list_media_uploads`. Your MCP server fires it to inspect your image storage arrays and grab live URLs. Verify file blocks instantly with `get_media_upload`. You can retrieve structural details, or use `wipe_media_upload` to route explicit disk removals during cleanup scripts.
