How to Use the DatoCMS MCP in Windsurf
Manage your DatoCMS content directly within Windsurf by letting Cascade chain record updates and media tasks automatically.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect DatoCMS MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect DatoCMS to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Full content control in Windsurf
Use `create_cms_record` or `patch_cms_record` to push live data updates without leaving your editor. Cascade reads your schema and fires off the right JSON payloads to keep your site current. Updating your CMS state becomes a background task. You define the goal for your content model, and the agent handles the item parameters internally.
GraphQL querying for Windsurf
Connect your project to `execute_graphql_cda` to pull live data structures directly into your workspace. It maps your content tree so you can write components against real production objects. Forget manual API testing. This MCP server lets your agent navigate the GraphQL graph, ensuring your UI logic matches your actual content structure.
Media management for Windsurf
Run `list_media_uploads` to scan your library and identify images attached to specific models. It gives you a clear view of your storage state without opening a browser tab. Need to clean up? Use `wipe_media_upload` to remove assets instantly. It handles the validation check so you don't break your site's image references.
