How to Use the Dev.to (Forem) MCP in Cline
Let Cline write code and publish it directly to Dev.to (Forem) as a live technical post.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Dev.to (Forem) MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Dev.to (Forem) to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Deploy code and write the Dev.to post simultaneously
Cline doesn't just write your components; it documents them. Once your code is ready, the agent uses `create_article` to post the tutorial directly to your Forem feed. If the code changes during review, Cline runs `update_article` to keep the code snippets in your post aligned with your local repository.
Manage your publication queue with this MCP Server
You can inspect your active posts without opening a browser. Cline calls `list_my_articles` to show you what is live, then pulls down specific drafts using `get_article_by_id` to edit them. If an article needs to go offline, the agent executes `unpublish_article` to pull it down instantly, letting you manage your entire feed from VS Code.
Analyze community profiles and video content
Track what is trending in your niche by letting Cline scan Forem. The agent calls `list_videos` to find top-performing video articles and analyzes their structure to help you plan your next post. To understand your audience, Cline uses `get_article_by_path` to pull specific posts and inspects the authors with `get_user` to build a local list of target collaborators.
