How to Use the DEV.to MCP in Cline
Cline handles your DEV.to workflow, from drafting markdown to managing comments, without you ever touching a web browser.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect DEV.to MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect DEV.to to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Manage your DEV.to articles with Cline
Cline takes your markdown files and converts them into published posts using `create_article`. It handles the API handshake so you can focus on writing better technical content. If you need to pull existing content for a rewrite, `get_article_by_id` brings the full text into your workspace. This makes refactoring old blog posts a matter of seconds rather than minutes.
Automate your DEV.to interaction with Cline
You can trigger `create_reaction` to engage with posts or comments as you browse them through your agent. It allows you to participate in community discussions directly from your coding environment. When you need to keep track of your own activity, `get_my_articles` provides a clear view of your history. Cline organizes this data so you can audit your output at any time.
Fetch DEV.to data with the MCP Server
The server allows Cline to query the platform for specific community information. By using `get_latest_articles` or `get_tags`, your agent keeps you updated on what is trending in your tech stack. It also retrieves organization details using `get_organization_articles` if you contribute to a team blog. This gives you a clear picture of your collective impact.
