How to Use the Dext MCP in Windsurf
Let Windsurf Cascade pull Dext receipts, map accounting categories, and build financial dashboards without asking for permission.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Dext MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Dext to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Windsurf audits your pending receipts autonomously
`list_items_pending_review` feeds your agent the exact invoices stuck in the approval queue. This MCP integration lets Windsurf read this list, cross-reference the vendors against `list_extracted_suppliers`, and flag discrepancies before your accountant yells at you. You don't have to prompt it for every step. Cascade pulls the data, notices a missing tax code in `list_accounting_categories`, and writes a script to alert the responsible users found via `list_account_users`.
Search and extract deep inbox data
`search_inbox_by_keyword` is how your AI client hunts down specific vendor invoices from last quarter. If you need a breakdown of AWS charges, Cascade runs the search and pulls the matching records instantly. Once it finds the target receipts, it hits `get_item_details` to extract the line items. It then formats that raw financial data into a clean React table right in your workspace.
Map bank feeds to client accounts
`list_connected_bank_accounts` exposes the statement extraction endpoints to this MCP Server. Cascade uses this to verify which accounts are actively syncing data. It can then iterate through `list_accounting_clients` to generate a coverage report. You instantly see which partner accounts have broken bank feeds without logging into the web dashboard.
