…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect E2B MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect E2B to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Execute generated code via the Cursor MCP Server
`create_sandbox` lets the Cursor Agent spin up a fresh Firecracker VM in 150 milliseconds to run the code it just generated in your editor. The agent executes files within this secure boundary instead of testing code directly on your local codebase. You see the real-time execution output right inside the Cursor sidebar. If a generated script loops infinitely, the 300-second automatic timeout cuts the process before it slows down your editor.
Tear down active VMs directly from your editor
Invoke `kill_sandbox` to destroy the active VM and delete its workspace files immediately after Cursor finishes a test run. The editor coordinates this cleanup to keep your project directory free of temporary build artifacts. This direct integration keeps your Cursor coding session highly responsive. You never have to manually run docker kill commands to clean up your workspace.
Track your active VMs in the Cursor sidebar
Use `list_sandboxes` to get a real-time inventory of active microVMs associated with your Cursor project. Your editor agent reads this metadata to determine if it can reuse an active environment for subsequent edits. Having this visibility in Cursor prevents you from running redundant sandboxes. You keep your E2B API usage efficient while writing code.
