How to Use the Egnyte MCP in Cline
Build apps with your Egnyte data, right in VS Code. Tell Cline to fetch files and it will write the code, run the tests, and stage the commit.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Egnyte MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Egnyte to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Build Components with Live File Data
Cline can now use Egnyte as a data source for your projects. Your agent will use `list_folder` and `get_file_metadata` to fetch file details directly into your codebase. Prompt Cline: 'Build a React component that displays the latest PDFs from the /Marketing/Reports folder.' It will call the Egnyte tools, write the component code to display the file list, and even create a test file for it.
Automate File Management with this MCP Server
Stop switching contexts to manage project assets. This MCP server gives Cline the ability to interact with your Egnyte file system using tools like `create_folder` and `delete_item`. When you're refactoring, you can tell Cline to 'archive the old /assets/v1 folder to Egnyte and create a new v2 folder.' Cline handles the file operations and updates your project references, all in one step.
Integrate Egnyte Audits with Cline
You can ask Cline to check compliance or debug access issues without leaving VS Code. It uses `get_audit_logs` to pull event data from your Egnyte domain. If a test is failing due to a missing file, you can ask, 'Check the Egnyte audit log for who deleted "config.json" this week.' Cline gets the log, finds the relevant event, and shows you the user and timestamp.
