How to Use the Egnyte MCP in Windsurf
Let Windsurf's Cascade agent manage your Egnyte files. Set a goal, like 'archive Q3 reports,' and watch it organize your content automatically.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Egnyte MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Egnyte to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Automate Content Governance
Your Cascade agent can now run compliance checks across your Egnyte account. It will use `list_users` and `list_groups` to find who has access to what, then check for risky public links with `list_shared_links`. Tell Windsurf: 'Find all publicly shared links for files in the /Legal folder and delete them.' Cascade chains `search_files`, `get_file_metadata`, and `delete_item` to clean up your permissions without you lifting a finger. This is what an autonomous MCP connection is for.
Instantly Provision Project Folders
Start a new project right from your editor. Your agent uses `create_folder` to build the required directory structure in Egnyte automatically, so you don't have to break your focus. Then, it can generate access links with `create_shared_link` for your team. A single prompt to Windsurf like 'Set up a new folder for Project Phoenix and share it with the design group' triggers the whole sequence.
Run Security Audits with the Windsurf MCP Server
Get a clear picture of account activity without leaving your IDE. Your agent can pull detailed logs using `get_audit_logs` to see who accessed, modified, or deleted files. Instead of manually digging through logs, just ask Windsurf: 'Show me all file deletions in the last 7 days.' Cascade gets the data from this MCP Server, filters it, and presents a clean summary right where you're working.
