Coordinate Equixly scans across an agent crew

`trigger_scan` launches an autonomous pentest, allowing your CrewAI security team to divide and conquer the resulting findings. A QA agent can monitor the scan state using `get_scan`, while a specialized Security Analyst agent processes the exploit evidence. This division of labor prevents your pipeline from bottlenecking on security reviews, passing the scan ID from the launch phase to the analysis phase without human intervention.

Let agents manage your API attack surface

`upload_api_spec` feeds your CrewAI agents the exact blueprints of your API so they can maximize attack coverage. An Architect agent checks existing schemas with `list_api_specs` and uploads fresh OpenAPI or Postman files when changes are detected. This ensures your autonomous pentester targets every newly added route, avoiding wasted compute time testing dead endpoints or missing hidden parameters.

Audit and remediate vulnerabilities with the CrewAI MCP Server

`get_scan_findings` provides your CrewAI agents with detailed HTTP request and response evidence for every detected vulnerability. A Developer agent can read these findings, analyze the failing endpoint, and write a code patch to fix the underlying issue. Once the patch is merged, a Validator agent runs `trigger_scan` again to verify the fix and check `list_scans` to confirm the vulnerability no longer shows up.

Setup guide

Set up Equixly MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Equixly tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Equixly Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Equixly data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Equixly access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Equixly transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Equixly MCP in CrewAI

You use the MCP server configuration to filter tools, giving your Security agent access to `get_scan_findings` while restricting your Developer agent to `list_services`.
Yes, an agent assigned with the `create_service` tool can detect new microservices in your repository and register their base URLs automatically.
The crew uses shared memory to pass the scan ID returned by `trigger_scan`. The analyst agent then uses that ID with `get_scan` to retrieve the results and share them in the context of the next task.
CrewAI connects to the Vinkius-hosted MCP server using secure HTTP or SSE transports, routing all tool execution requests through your single endpoint token.
Your OpenAPI specs and scan findings are transmitted via the secure MCP endpoint directly to the Vinkius sandbox. The raw exploit payloads are never stored on CrewAI's execution environment, keeping your AppSec data private.
