Team-wide EventTemple MCP Server access

The EventTemple MCP Server integrates directly into your team's development environment. You commit the configuration to your repository, and every engineer gets instant access to the venue API. Copilot runs `list_bookings` to help anyone on the team understand the data structure. Nobody wastes time asking how the calendar data formats dates. The AI client calls `get_event` and shows the exact ISO strings returning from the server. Your whole team builds against the same reality.

Query hospitality CRM records inline

Finding the right test account usually means logging into a web portal. Now, Copilot executes `list_accounts` right in your sidebar. You tell the agent to find a corporate client, and it pulls the exact ID you need for your API tests. The same goes for individual planners. Running `list_contacts` or `get_contact` lets the AI inspect the raw data structure. It writes your data transformation layers based on actual responses, not outdated API docs.

Build billing systems with live invoices

When you develop payment integrations, you need real invoice structures. Copilot uses `list_invoices` to grab active billing records from your EventTemple account. It writes the exact parsing logic to handle line items and taxes. Internal workflow tools benefit too. The agent runs `list_tasks` to see how sales reps structure their follow-ups. It uses that live context to build better internal dashboards for your banquet managers.

Setup guide

Set up EventTemple MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the EventTemple MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the EventTemple tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent EventTemple transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.

Common questions about EventTemple MCP in VS Code Copilot

Add a .vscode/mcp.json file to your project repository. Once your engineers pull the latest branch, VS Code automatically registers the tools. They just need to switch Copilot Chat to Agent mode.
No. These tools only perform read operations. Copilot can look up details using `get_contact` or `list_accounts`, but it lacks the endpoints to modify or delete your CRM data.
You need VS Code version 1.96 or higher. Older versions do not support the Model Context Protocol. Update your editor and check the output logs to verify the server started correctly.
You can pull the event data using `get_event` and `list_bookings`. From there, your engineers write the code to display or manage catering. The server itself just provides the raw data from the API.
Very secure. When Copilot calls `list_accounts`, the request runs through an ephemeral zero-trust environment. The token authenticates the single request, returns the payload to your local editor, and destroys the session.
