Connect Feedly MCP to Mastra AI

Create your Vinkius account to connect Feedly to Mastra AI and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.

Conditional content branching with Mastra AI

Set up workflows that check `get_tag_contents` and branch based on the results. If a tag is empty, your agent can pivot to `search_topics` to find relevant alternatives. This keeps your pipeline moving even when your primary feeds turn up nothing. It handles the logic so your agents stay focused on the output.

Manage subscriptions programmatically

Use `get_subscriptions` to audit your feed list within your Mastra AI workflow. You can trigger alerts if a source stops providing new content. It turns your static reading list into an active monitoring system. The agent alerts you before you realize a source went dark.

Automated board curation

Invoke `get_board_contents` to pull your saved items into a Mastra AI agent for batch processing. The agent can summarize or archive them based on your rules. It removes the manual chore of sorting through saved articles. You define the criteria, and the agent executes the cleanup.

Setup guide

Set up Feedly MCP in Mastra AI

Prerequisites

  • Node.js 18+ and a TypeScript project
  • @mastra/mcp + @mastra/core packages
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install dependencies

    Run npm install @mastra/mcp @mastra/core plus your preferred model provider (e.g. @ai-sdk/openai).

  2. 2

    Configure the MCPClient

    Create an MCPClient with your Vinkius endpoint as a URL object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Discover and inject tools

    Call mcpClient.listTools() and spread the result into your agent's tools object. All Feedly tools become native Mastra tools.

  4. 4

    Run with any model

    Swap openai("gpt-4o") for any AI SDK-compatible provider. Call agent.generate() and the agent routes tool calls through MCP automatically.

agent.ts
import { MCPClient } from "@mastra/mcp";
import { Agent } from "@mastra/core/agent";
import { openai } from "@ai-sdk/openai";

const mcpClient = new MCPClient({
  id: "feedly-mcp-client",
  servers: {
    "feedly-mcp": {
      url: new URL(
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
      ),
    },
  },
});

const agent = new Agent({
  name: "Feedly Agent",
  model: openai("gpt-4o"),
  instructions: "You have access to Feedly tools.",
  tools: {
    ...(await mcpClient.listTools()),
  },
});

const result = await agent.generate(
  "List recent Feedly transactions"
);
console.log(result.text);

Common questions about Feedly MCP in Mastra AI

Mastra AI includes a built-in workflow engine that manages retries for any MCP tool. If `get_stream_contents` hits a network hiccup, the agent tries again automatically.
Absolutely. You list tags with `list_tags` and then use your agent to watch those specific categories for new entries.
Yes. You can enable tool approval in your agent configuration, forcing a manual check before the agent executes a `mark_as_read` command.
You set the token in your environment configuration for the MCP server. Mastra AI picks it up and passes it to the Feedly API for every request.
The server runs in an isolated sandbox. It only accesses the specific Feedly article titles and URLs you query, and it never stores your credentials.
