Autonomous stream curation in Windsurf

Cascade reads your feeds directly from the source. It uses `get_stream_contents` to pull the latest entries into your active context without manual copy-pasting. You just define the topic. Your agent handles the retrieval and filtering, keeping your workspace focused on the signal while ignoring the noise.

Managing Feedly boards with Cascade

Organize your research by letting Cascade interact with your saved items. It calls `list_boards` to find your categories and `get_board_contents` to pull in specific articles. This creates a direct loop between your saved research and your current coding task. You don't leave the IDE to find that one article you saved last week.

Search and discover new feeds

Find new sources without opening a browser tab. Cascade uses `search_feeds` and `search_topics` to identify relevant industry content based on your current project requirements. Once it finds a match, it pulls the metadata immediately. You get the insights you need while staying in your flow state.

Setup guide

Set up Feedly MCP in Windsurf

Prerequisites

  • Windsurf IDE installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Click the Cascade assistant icon in the sidebar, then click the hammer icon (🔨) at the top of the panel. Select "Configure" to open ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

  2. 2

    Add the Feedly MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Refresh MCPs

Go back to the hammer icon (🔨) in Cascade and click "Refresh". Windsurf will detect the new server. No full restart is needed — the connection is hot-reloaded.

  4. 4

    Verify in Cascade

Start a new Cascade conversation and ask something like "Show my Feedly payment history." If connected, Cascade will call the Feedly tools directly. You will see a green dot next to the server name in the MCP panel.

Common questions about Feedly MCP in Windsurf

Add the server details to your mcp_config.json file. Once you refresh the MCP panel in Windsurf, Cascade will detect the tools and start pulling your data.
Yes. You can instruct Cascade to trigger `mark_as_read` after it processes an entry. This keeps your feed clean as you work through your queue.
It does. Because Windsurf chains tools, you can ask it to search for a topic, retrieve the stream, and summarize the top entries in one command.
The data lives in your agent's temporary context window. It stays local to your current session and doesn't get stored elsewhere.
Your connection relies on a developer token that only you control. The server only touches your subscription lists, board contents, and entry metadata.
