How to Use the Files.com MCP in Cursor
Let Cursor write code against live Files.com directory structures and user groups without leaving your editor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Files.com MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Files.com to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Generate code using live Files.com metadata in Cursor
The `get_file_details` tool feeds real-time Files.com metadata directly into Cursor's active code context. Your agent uses this actual payload structure to write precise integration code instead of relying on outdated API documentation. This lets Cursor generate integration code using actual Files.com file sizes and paths instead of mock data.
Write automation scripts using this MCP Server
The `list_users` tool lets Cursor inspect your active Files.com user directory to generate automated provisioning scripts. Your editor's agent reads the live user list to write custom migration or sync tools. By combining this with `list_user_groups`, Cursor maps your Files.com organization structure directly into your local codebase.
Safely clean up files from your Cursor terminal
The `delete_file` tool allows your Cursor agent to use this MCP Server to remove obsolete assets from Files.com during automated cleanup tasks. You can instruct the editor to find and purge temporary files based on criteria you define in the chat. Before purging, Cursor runs `get_file_details` to verify the Files.com modification date matches your script criteria.
