How to Use the Fluxiom MCP in CrewAI
Deploy a crew of specialized CrewAI agents to manage, tag, and publish your Fluxiom asset library.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Fluxiom MCP to CrewAI
Create your Vinkius account to connect Fluxiom to CrewAI and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Multi-Agent Asset Curation
The `list_assets` tool allows your CrewAI research agent to scan your entire media library for untagged files. Once identified, a separate curation agent uses `create_tag` to generate organized taxonomies, coordinating their work through CrewAI's shared memory. This division of labor means one CrewAI agent focuses on finding files while another focuses on Fluxiom categorization. They work in parallel, processing hundreds of files without stepping on each other's toes.
Automated Portal Distribution with the CrewAI MCP Server
The `list_stages` tool gives your CrewAI distribution agent a complete list of your public brand portals. A moderator agent then reviews the assets retrieved by `get_asset` and decides which files are ready for public consumption. By running this as a hierarchical CrewAI crew, the moderator agent has the final say on what gets published. This prevents unapproved Fluxiom drafts from accidentally showing up on your public stages.
Account Monitoring and Maintenance
The `get_account_details` tool helps your CrewAI manager agent monitor storage limits and usage metrics. If your Fluxiom account approaches its storage cap, the agent alerts the crew to begin archiving older files. The archiving agent then uses `get_asset_versions` to find old drafts and flags them for deletion. This keeps your Fluxiom digital asset management system clean and cost-effective without manual intervention.
Set up Fluxiom MCP in CrewAI
Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ installed
-
crewaipackage (pip install crewai) - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install CrewAI
Run
pip install crewaito install the framework. MCP support is built-in via themcpsparameter. - 2
Add the MCP URL to your agent
Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the
mcpslist. Replace[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically. - 3
Kick off your crew
Create a
Crewwith your agent and tasks. Callcrew.kickoff()— the agent will automatically invoke Fluxiom tools as needed.
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew
agent = Agent(
role="Fluxiom Analyst",
goal="Access and analyze Fluxiom data via MCP.",
backstory="Expert analyst with direct Fluxiom access.",
mcps=[
"https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
],
)
task = Task(
description="List recent Fluxiom transactions",
agent=agent,
expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)
crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result) Prerequisites

-
crewai+crewai-toolspackages - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install dependencies
Run
pip install crewai crewai-tools. TheMCPServerAdapterhandles lifecycle management and tool conversion. - 2
Connect with MCPServerAdapter
Use
MCPServerAdapteras a context manager withSseServerParameterspointing to your Vinkius endpoint. The adapter automatically manages connection lifecycle. - 3
Assign tools and run
Pass the returned
mcp_toolsto your agent'stoolsparameter. The adapter converts MCP tools to nativeBaseToolobjects compatible with all CrewAI agents.
